The children have been learning about the work of abstract Spanish painter Pablo Picasso this week. After examining some of his most famous work, they then produced a range of self-portraits inspired by his style.

Year 3 spent the morning thinking like Scientists! They were given a challenge to complete everything on a given list. This list included many activities such as; finding something that melts, something that floats, discovering what would happen if you mix blue and yellow, and much more!
I think Y3 did a fantastic job. Here are just a few pictures of what they found 🙂
Last week, I asked Y3 to think about the challenges they face at the moment. I then asked them to spend some time with their family doing an activity that helps them to feel calm and clear their mind of their troubles.
It was great to see the variety of activities that children chose to do. Some chose to go for a walk, some went on a nature hunt, some painted, some even did ballet! Don’t they look like they are having fun?
The children in Year 4 are keeping active thanks to the gifts of music, dance and fitness! Jenson has been learning the keyboard, Bethany has been playing the guitar, Zac has been dancing along to Miss B’s videos and Rocco has set up his own workout regime.
Well done everyone!
For this week’s PE challenge, Y3 all tried Cosmic Yoga from home. This is a mix between stretching, story time and breathing to calm our minds.
Look at these amazing yoga poses…
Before Christmas, Year 3 spent time making beautiful baubles and decorations, each child made a donation towards the cost of the materials. This money then went to Hope Nottingham Foodbank along with a special card and prayer.
To show their gratitude, we received a this lovely certificate 🙂
It has been a strange start to the Lent term but I couldn’t be prouder of my class. Thank you all who have attended the live sessions and spent time getting used to Teams. It has been a learning curve for us all.
For out PE lessons, I set two challenges. One was to choose an activity and take a photo doing it, and the other was to take part in Miss B’s dance class! These photos bring a smile to my face 🙂

It’s been a great week in nursery and with home learning. Thank you all who have attended the live sessions. It has been a learning curve for us all.
In the nursery we have been doing many activities. We have been looking at people who help us such as Doctors, Fire Fighters, Police Officers and more! Take a look and see who we are dressed as!
Our story we have shared is The 3 Little Pigs. We hope you have enjoyed the story online. In our construction area the children have built the little pigs houses!
We also explored the snowy weather, wrapping up warm in our hats, gloves and coats to make our very own snowman. Did any of you at home play out in the snow?
There have been lots of you who have attended our live sessions and it has been so good to keep in contact with so many of you and see your happy faces everyday. You are doing amazing. Thank you to the grown ups for the great support you are giving your children.

Year 4 were full of ‘oohs’ and ‘aahs’ on Friday (January 15) when Mrs Bell brought her rabbit Lily into school!
THE children have started posted pictures of their latest homework! Set the task of creating their own 3D biome to tie in with this term’s topic, Caleb, Emelia and Jenson have produced an Arctic tundra, Krystian and Philip a rainforest and Eric a wetland!
We’re looking forward to seeing what the rest of the class comes up with now…
