What a term!

This term, Y3 have produced some fantastic work. As you are not allowed in to school during the current pandemic, I thought it would be nice if you had the opportunity to see some of the fantastic displays that showcase this. We hope you like them. Can you spot your child’s work?

Christmas crafts

Although Christmas couldn’t be the same this year, that wasn’t going to dampen Y3’s spirit!

For the last few days of term, we created some fantastic Christmas-themed crafts to take home and keep. We used a variety of techniques to make two personalised baubles and a snow man card for our families.

Cinderella

We watched a special pre-recorded performance of Cinderella by the talented people at the Nottingham Playhouse. It was great, we dimmed the lights and ate snacks, just like we were actually there! The children stamped their feet, booed and cheered in all the appropriate places and generally had a fantastic time.

Christmas dinner

On 16th December the whole school enjoyed a wonderful Christmas dinner. Year 3 wore fun Christmas jumpers and spent the day listening to Christmas songs, as well as enjoying a variety of Christmas activates!

Christmas dinner

Today we had our Christmas dinner and thanks to the kitchen staff, it was delicious! We wore our Christmas jumpers and got into the festive spirit.  We made a card for Safiya, to say thank you for looking after us at dinner time.

Panto!!

Year 2 had the ‘best afternoon ever’ watching the Nottingham Playhouse panto, Cinderella, this afternoon! It was made all the more exciting by the dark classroom and the snacks and drinks kindly provided by the parents. The children stamped their feet, booed and cheered in all the appropriate places and generally had a fantastic time.

Advent Retreat

On Monday December 14th, Issie, our school Chaplain, lead Year 2 in a retreat. We talked about the preparations you make for a journey and drew the items that Mary and Joseph would need in a rucksack. We then focused on how we prepare for Christmas and the coming of Jesus. In the afternoon, the children were introduced to the story of The Visitation and talked about how each of the people in the story would have felt-Mary, Elizabeth, Zachariah and Joseph.  They prepared short dramas about each of these people and their feelings. The day ended with the children preparing and taking part in a class Liturgy.

Y4 will go to the ball!

Y4 didn’t let the Covid-19 restrictions stop them getting their annual pantomime fix as they watched Cinderella in class!
Enjoying a treat of popcorn and a fizzy drink, the children lapped up the streamed performance of the Nottingham Playhouse production and even shouted out ‘he’s two metres behind you!’ to the cast members!
