Y4 shine at Pentecost class retreat

Year 4 spent the afternoon with our chaplain, Frances, looking in more detail at the story of Pentecost as a class. After recapping on the arrival of the Holy Spirit and the power it filled the disciples with, the children practised and performed a short drama of the story in their groups.

After regrouping, the children then wrote a letter to somebody they knew who was unaware of the Pentecost story to spread the Good News.

The children finished by contemplating a range of questions linked to the topic for their R.E books.

Baking with Y4… and they’re scone!

The children channelled their inner Mary Berry and Paul Hollywood’s on April 4 when they made butternut and thyme scones in class.
After mixing in the flour, baking powder, Parmesan cheese and butter the children moulded in the cooked butternut squash before rolling out and shaping their scones.
After 20 minutes in the oven, they then tucked in to try them back in class – yum!
