The Church Synod

This term Bishop Patrick has asked us all to think deeply about the Church. In school we had a day to think about everything we know about the Church, what we like and dislike about the Church and how it makes us feel when we go. We then thought about what the Church of the future would look like and the changes we could make to acheive our hopes for it. All of our thoughts and ideas will be fedback to the Diocese and to Bishop Patrick.

Pop Art

December 2021

Year 2 have been exploring Pop Art which is art based on popular everyday objects or people. Bright colours are often used to grab your attention.

We found out that Pop Art started in the 1950s and Andy Warhol was a famous artist in New York. Take a look at the work we produced. Can you guess what our popular everyday objects are? We hope you love our work as much as we do.

She told us all about the work of the Police and how they keep us safe every day. We were even able to sit inside the Police car and wear the Police helmets!

DT-Making Sandwiches

December 2021

During our Keeping Healthy topic in Science, the children also had to think about what makes a healthy diet. They learnt all about the food groups and how important it is for us to eat a good variety of different types of food. They were asked to design and make a healthy sandwich that would contain as many of the food groups as possible. Whilst making the sandwiches, the children were learning skills in using kitchen tools safely and making food in a clean and safe environment.

On the first day of Advent the whole school enjoyed a day of reflection and prayer. We all wanted to think about how we could get ready for the coming of Christmas. During the day we had a great time making the Advent Wreath to be used for our reflections in class each day during Advent.
